Many chatters saw our resident Hawk, Kabi, on the Lookout this morning. Kabi (named for "Kabillion") has been with us for a few weeks now.. Assuming he is a male, he is out of sight for days but then is seen cruising the area in the daytime and roosting "across the highway" on one of the New Homes, on a certain chimney, seen through binoculars.
Yesterday Kabi was rushed by at least 10 crows throughout Mission Control's yard.. he didnt seem concerned in the least. He appears to be a younger male who has chosen this as his territory ! Seeing him on the Lookout is a bit disconcerting, but we didnt have owls or babies on board so all okay: )

Here we are Mid October, about a month and half away from our possible beginning of the Spring Clutch, how exciting!
